I have forgiven this church. But that doesn't mean I want what I experienced there to continue. I just want people to be aware of what happens there.
It is a powerful place to meet God. I'm not gonna deny that. But in some ways experiencing God so powerfully there makes you more susceptible to believing everything they tell you about God or how His Kingdom works.
But God is not as demanding and as harsh as Agape portrays Him to be. Of course with their words they say God is loving and all good. But with their actions and ingrained in the culture is the idea that you have to perform to please God. They place very high value on 'ministry' as they define it. To be a good Christian, you have to be a leader and you have to have people following you. Otherwise there are still problems/sins in your life that displease God. If you are not successful in your ministry, then you are clearly doing something wrong to displease God, or so goes the Agape theology.
The community, which at first seems close knit, loves very conditionally. They love you if you are doing exactly as they want you to (or at least are moving in that direction). They stop talking to you once you decide to find another church (or if you decide that Agape or Christianity is not for you). You see, they have better things to focus on then people who don't agree with them wholeheartedly.
I've seen many who became Christians at Agape, or who were Christians prior to joining leave the faith all together after leaving or being kicked out of this church. Their 'results' are not long-lasting in that sense.
I trust God will lead you and only pray that you will be open to hear Him and what He says rather than the Agape leaders.Added June 13, 2017 by A Google User - ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
This is a wonderful church! I have been so blessed to be part of this community. God has shown me much love and grace here. I've learned how to pray and read God's Word. Before, I never thought that this could happen - I didn't know God and His love for me. But by His grace, He brought me to Agape Mission Church so that I could know Him and receive life- and life to the fullest!

Beware of these people. They go to colleges, and fish out their followers by being super nice, buying you snacks, taking your out for meals before bible study, doing super cool church events at their church facility. Like they have awesome graphics, cool music, beautiful environment. You know, stuff that college students like. Around exam time, they hand out goodie bags and act all chill. Ok, you believe in the Lord, so you like going out with this crowd. Their worship is powerful and you do learn about the gospel..
But then, say a year or so later, when you are all used to the excitement, the vibe turns rather sour. They start to really get into your business. They want to know who you are dating, and what are you doing with your partners... They want more an more of your time with their group studies and before you know it, they pretty much know everything you do and think. Then it becomes a thing of, "you are all in, or all out" So for instance, you can't make to the group bible studies because, well your group leader is a pain, and you don't really click, or you don't really learn from him/her. So you figure, ok, I'll just do the college things and go on Sundays and go on their camps. No, no, no, not so fast. They become petty by not letting you go to the camps, and then they don't invite you to Sunday church either and before you know, boom, you are no longer really welcome at all! And all that by always having that smile on the face and telling you, that this isn't for everyone and in plain English "You are not an all-in team player, you are doing it wrong, bye" And just like that, you loose all your church friends... and because you spent so much time with them, those were almost all your friends...
Their camps or retreats are soul draining, They really use some cult tactics with those, One time, we had to depend on leaders for basic stuff like shampoo, we couldn't bring our own. Sleep is kept on a minimum. We would be out there praying and singing and listening to scripture deep into the night, like till 3 AM. Crazy! By the end of the weekend, you are crying of frustration because they are praying you into a sort of mental state. But hey, God is good! Amen, smile!
Another thing that kind of bothered me is the whole vibe that men have to be the leaders, yeah screw that. Not all men have leadership personalities, it isn't something you can force. Some women are more in control than others, so why make it so gender specific? You are born with the urge to lead or follow and guess what? The world needs both types and gender has nothing to do with that.
They obviously dislike homosexuality. Just gonna put that out there...
And last but not least, the crying. When these people worship, its like a funeral. They cry and scream and go nuts. Then all of a sudden, they stop. Then a moment comes, and they are back at it, crying while praying. Uhhh how can you laugh and then the next moment be crying? It was kind of fake or weird to me. Some even spoke in tongues and I couldn't help but giggle at some of the sounds that came out of these people, It was comical mostly. But to each their own.
So yeah, be careful. I wouldn't say they are bad people, its just that they would rather you do what they think is best and if you don't really see yourself in that vibe, then don't go there because they will move you out as quick and smooth as they moved you in.Added February 20, 2017 by Nicolene du Toit - ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
This church seems great on the surface, but beauty is only skin deep. What kind of church tells its congregation to cut off all contact to former members? Any friendships you make at this church are only good while you are a member. If you leave (good or bad circumstance), you are cut off. Friendship for 10 years? Gone.
